Christy Albright

Co-facilitator, Co-organizer, Wellbeing and Joy

Christy Sorensen Albright wrote her dissertation about the interplay of her psychological capital (hope, optimism, resiliency, and efficacy) and her experience of grief after the death of her husband, Robert in December 2017. In addition to her Ph.D. in Organization, Information and Learning Sciences (OILS) at the University of New Mexico, she has a Master of Theological Studies and a Master of Arts from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. A lifelong learner, Christy has worked as a professional musician, worship leader, educator, non-profit manager, trainer, workshop leader, curriculum writer, online instructor, and public-school administrator. She currently serves as the Constituent Services Specialist for the Board of Education Services Office at Albuquerque Public Schools in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Christy brings a passion for discovering new ways to learn and think about ideas. Her current intellectual thinkstorm involves wondering how the ideas of psychological capital, stories, and grief can help adults, youth, and children in their everyday lives.

Why I’m in MYFest:  MYFest is a wonderful opportunity for a life-long learner. It is a chance to learn and grow in a hospitable space filled with new ideas both taught and discovered along the way.

MYFest involvement: I am co-facilitating a track, “Navigating Grief and Uncertainty Using Postive Psychology and Psychological Captial,’ with my sister Clarissa Sorensen-Unruh.
